The Catalan Game Federation (FCT) organised a workshop in Vilanova del Vallès last Friday, the 12th, to explain how hunters should adapt their activities following the African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreak in the Vallès region. Dr Lavín (SEFaS) shared European experiences in ASF control, highlighting the role of hunters in surveillance, wild boar management, and early detection, while more than 100 participants attended, showing strong commitment to biosecurity. Dr Josep M. López Martin from the Catalan Government outlined key biosecurity measures, including carcass handling, hygiene rules, and movement restrictions, and Jaume Torralba explained how rural officers are supporting the plan through field surveillance and enforcement.
