My name is Madeleine Yngvell, I’m a third-year student at the veterinary school in Toulouse, France. I’m very fond of wildlife and interested in its management and conservation. I am carrying out an internship at the UAB on the following subject: “Estimating wild boar population in a periurban natural park”. This is an opportunity for me to discover and gain skills and knowledge in the research department by combining fieldwork and picture analysis thanks to camera-traps. I will be using the random encounter model protocol, which will allow me to estimate the wild boar population in Collserola Natural Park.
