Intensive game management and hunter satisfaction

The recent study in collaboration with the Wildlife Research Unit, Cordoba University, the IREC (CSIC; UCLM, JCCM), and the Instituto de Ciencias Forestales (NIA-CSIC),  sheds light on the complex relationship between wildlife management and hunter contentment. Focusing on dog-driven hunts of Iberian red deer, researchers identified how management strategies impact hunter satisfaction while considering conservation challenges. This balance is critical as it highlights that while enhancing hunting experiences, there may be risks to species sustainability. Striving for this balance is essential for maintaining healthy ecosystems and ensuring ethical hunting practices that align with conservation goals. Discover more about these findings.
