I am a wildlife pathologist, passionate about wildlife disease diagnostics and research. I perform necropsies of wild animals and I love trying to solve the mystery behind any case. Since wildlife diseases also affect the health of domestic animals and humans, I actively collaborate organizing activities to engage rural people in the early detection of infectious diseases. The complexity of my field makes it necessary to involve different disciplines of which I enjoy learning with every collaboration about the impact and ecology of infectious diseases. In fact, the research projects in which I participate try to unravel not only the pathology of emerging and common pathogens on wildlife but also the role of concomitant pathogens, environmental conditions and multi-host communities on the occurrence and impact of wildlife diseases.
